BC Health Care Awards
Last week, HEABC hosted their 12th annual BC Health Care Awards on June 25th. Set against the elegant backdrop of the renowned Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, the awards ceremony celebrated exemplary contributions in healthcare. This event united a crowd of nearly 290 individuals from diverse organizations within the sector.
The awards ceremony transcended expectations this year with including twelve distinct categories. Each category is for honoring healthcare’s unnoticed elements. Notably, this year’s event was special because it witnessed the debut of the Dianna Mah-Jones Award of Excellence in Person-Centred Care, an accolade that pays tribute to the essence of patient-focused healthcare practices.
Different organizations that made a difference in healthcare in British Columbia came together at the event. Among these many esteemed organizations, the Progressive Housing Society stood out, was recognized with an award.
Receiving the award was a significant moment for Progressive Housing Society – a testament to their relentless effort and dedication in transforming lives. Their nomination by Fraser Health highlighted their unwavering commitment to bettering society, particularly in providing critical services to those grappling with homelessness and mental health issues.
We, at the Progressive Housing Society, are overwhelmed with gratitude for this recognition. It is a humbling affirmation of our work, our mission, and the tireless efforts of our devoted staff. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to both the Health Employers Association of BC and Fraser Health. Without their steadfast support, our path to this prestigious award would have remained a distant dream. Fraser Health, in particular, played a crucial role in this accomplishment by putting our name forward as a potential recipient, believing in our capabilities and the impact of our work.
This award serves not just as an accolade, but also as an encouragement to persist in our mission. It strengthens our resolve to continue advocating for those under our care, providing them with much-needed services that can bring about tangible changes in their lives. At Progressive Housing Society, we are reminded every day of the essential role we play in society. This recognition reinforces our commitment to that role, and fuels our determination to keep making a difference in the lives of those coping with homelessness and mental health issues.
