About Me:
Aditi Shalome Rudra is a seasoned community development leader with over a decade of experience in program management, youth engagement, and social planning. She currently serves as Program Manager for the City of New Westminster’s Building Safer Communities Fund and as Chair of the New West Situation Table, a national initiative focused on reducing gang and gun violence among youth.
Aditi first joined the Progressive Housing Society board at 27, completing a six-year term as Executive Secretary, and has now returned for her second term. Guided by her passion for community wellness, she believes housing is the cornerstone of a healthy society and is committed to advancing supportive housing and inclusive community solutions.
Her professional journey includes leadership roles with the United Nations Association in Canada, the Association of Neighbourhood Houses, and Dan’s Legacy Foundation, where she has managed multi-million-dollar programs, advanced youth employment initiatives, developed trauma-informed training curricula, and led work in food security and seniors’ wellness. Her educational background spans business administration, project management, sustainable food systems, and culinary arts, providing a strong foundation for her community-focused work.
In addition to her professional and board service, Aditi volunteers with Delta Assist as a community gardener, helping grow and distribute food to residents facing food insecurity. On a personal level, she finds balance through her deep respect for nature, spending her free time hunting, fishing, and foraging across British Columbia.
