About Me:
A proud member of the Cree Nation, Tina Larouche hails from the Peter Ballantyne Indian Band in the northernmost regions of Saskatchewan. Her rich Indigenous heritage forms a deep undercurrent throughout her personal and professional life, inspiring her dedication to fostering meaningful change within both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities.
Armed with an extensive background in the real estate industry and Indigenous non-profit organizations spanning across British Columbia, Tina’s professional journey is marked by her relentless commitment to community service. Her unique blend of skills and experiences has led her to serve on a multitude of committees and boards at local, provincial, and national levels, reinforcing her influence and impact across varying scopes and scales.
Formerly the Vice-President of the Aboriginal Housing Management Association, Tina dedicated over a decade of her life as the Executive Director of Aqanttanam Housing Society, putting her heart and soul into advocating for and promoting Indigenous housing rights. Her experience and passion didn’t stop there. She served as the Director of Programs with Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society and Manager of Social Purpose Real Estate with Central City Foundation, amplifying her impact on Indigenous communities in the DTES.
Her dedication to creating sustainable housing solutions also saw her joining forces with other committed community members to establish the Kelowna Indigenous Housing Society. Now, as a Board Director, Tina is thrilled to fortify her commitment to Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities, leveraging her wealth of knowledge and experience to make a difference where it matters most.
On a personal level, Tina is a proud mother of two grown-up daughters who have been an integral part of her life journey. In her spare time, she indulges her love for the outdoors, often found hiking through the wilderness or navigating the snowy slopes on her skis. In every aspect of her life, Tina embodies a relentless spirit of dedication and a deep-rooted commitment to her community.
