CNOY 2019

On a chilly evening marking the Coldest Night of the Year 2019, the Progressive Housing Society Team stepped out with enthusiasm and determination. Eight of our team members joined this event, renowned for its mission to raise awareness and funds for the homeless and those in the grip of poverty.

Each member took it upon themselves to gather pledges, reaching out to friends, family, and colleagues to support their endeavor. Their efforts were not in vain, as the eight walkers collectively raised an impressive sum of $1,195. This achievement was a testament to their commitment and the generosity of those who contributed to their cause.

About CNOY 2019

Founded in 1971, Burnaby Community Services is a charitable society providing a voice, resources, and opportunities to people who need support. They believe change can only happen when people are empowered to improve their lives and their community. Currently, they offer a range of programs and publications to support families with LOW INCOME, and seniors experiencing ISOLATION.

Last year, the CNOY fundraiser provided support 129,553 times to people in need. In addition, Burnaby Community Services has developed new innovative approaches to breaking the cycles of poverty and isolation, continuously helping make Burnaby a better place to live, work and play.

The Coldest Night of the Year Burnaby will raise funds for our outreach and advocacy work, namely the printing and distribution of our 12,000 Community Outreach Cards, Community Volunteer Income Tax Program & Form Completion Assistance Programs, and providing hampers to unique individuals (who are homeless or at risk of) during Christmas.
