A Year of Meaningful Progress

This past year brought exciting developments for PHS, particularly in expanding housing opportunities and strengthening the services available to people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and housing instability.

Among the year’s significant milestones was the completion of the Holly House redevelopment, transforming a five-bedroom home into a 14-bed facility offering both assisted living and supported independent living. We also celebrated the groundbreaking of our 11th Avenue affording housing project, which will bring 43 new homes to Burnaby, and the purchase of Carson House, which will create additional community living opportunities.

Beyond housing development, we expanded our reach with the opening of the Richmond Drop-In Centre in April 2025. In its first year, the centre welcomed 142 unique guests, providing meals, showers, laundry services, and connections to essential community resources.

Across our programs, PHS Supported 1,281 unique clients, recorded 28,374 shelter stays, and helped over 29 individuals transition into permanent housing.

While these numbers reflect important achievements, many of the year’s most meaningful moments are found in the everyday experiences of the people we support. From building new relationships and developing life skills to reconnecting with community and finding a place to call home, each step forward matters.

As PHS continues to grow, our commitment remains rooted in the elief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to thrive with dignity.
