Mental Health Walk 2019

On May 8th we co-hosted the 8th Annual Walk for Mental Health. Mental health is an important part of our overall health. Our mental health determines our ability to cope with everyday life successfully. It’s an important but often overlooked piece of our wellbeing. The mental health walk is an important piece about raising awareness of the importance of mental health. It also is a great function to provide support and community to those who may face challenges in this area.

Mental Health Walk 2019

We had a fantastic turn out this year! Just over 140 people came out for the walk. We also had support from our local RCMP detachment. It was a beautiful day for the Mental Health Walk and almost everyone was in fantastic spirits. The group got a quick warm up before setting out into two groups. One group did the shorter 1km walk while the other did a 3km walk.

When everyone returned there was a great BBQ. Participants got delicious fruit and hot dogs. Door prizes were also given out.

Thanks to Everyone That Participated

All the staff at Progressive Housing Society want to say a special thanks to everyone that came out to raise awareness by walking. We would also like to thank all of our partnering agencies for this event! We look forward to the event next year!
