Emergency Weather Response (EWR)

In the face of extreme weather conditions, the Emergency Weather Response (EWR) Shelter stands as a critical refuge for those most vulnerable in our community. This temporary shelter program is more than just a place to stay; it’s a lifeline during the harshest weather periods, offering safety, warmth, and a sense of security to those without a home.

The EWR Shelter is not just about providing a roof and four walls. It’s a comprehensive support system that offers hot meals, warm clothing, and access to essential services. This shelter becomes a haven where individuals can find respite from the severe cold, reducing the risk of weather-related health issues.

Moreover, the EWR Shelter plays a pivotal role in connecting individuals to broader community services. It’s an entry point for many into a network of support, including mental health services, addiction counseling, and long-term housing solutions. By addressing immediate needs, the shelter paves the way for more sustainable, long-term assistance.

Our Tri-Cities Emergency Weather Response Shelter is in operation from October 2023 to April 2024 and is activated when the weather meets one or more of the determined requirements.
